ABOUT BATHURST

Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Bathurst .

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Join the Bathurst Photography Group on Facebook to share your photos after the session.

We enjoyed a relaxed, very informative time with Imti. He knows what he is doing and happily shares his knowledge. I learnt more in two hours than in a (very expensive) week with another instructor. Imti also went to the effort of providing printouts for us.

Awesome day. Street photography has a number of challenges including changing light conditions, composition and interesting people.

I was raised on a wheat farm north of Parkes. The annual harvesting of the wheat was totally dependent on the weather.I managed to capture here the whole ambience and feel of harvest time the headers kept rolling until the clouds opened .Here I believed I captured the essence of the harvest from composition the subject matter the lightening the clouds and of course the magical light here .

The Eta Carina Nebula is a highlight of the Southern skies. Located not far from the Southern Cross, it is a fairly easy target to capture. This image is an average of about 50 frames taken with a Nikon D7200 attached to a 14 inch diameter F2 telescope. The pink areas are hydrogen gas clouds glowing due to the number of younger hot stars within it.

Image of Comet Leonard from the first of January back in 2022. The comet was not really visible to the eye, but stunning with the wide angled telescope. The image was taken using a Nikon D7200 at the prime focus of this telescope.

Title or Location: This Still Life Photograph of "Grapes, Strawberry's and Wine" was taken in my bedroom in Orange County California.
This image is a Still Life Composition of "Berries, Wine and Grapes" that I created on a rainy day in my bedroom. I used no fancy Studio Lighting at all. My only light source was a hand-held flashlight that I kept moving rapidly. It was an experiment in Light Painting when I couldn't go outside to shoot.
